The last bottleneck
Leading product in enterprise is different. A CEO just laid out which roles survive once AI removes the bottlenecks: the people who manage the systems, and the one bottleneck you can’t automate away — time with the customer.
Sit with that. When research takes a single prompt and iteration runs itself, the scarce resource isn’t speed anymore. It’s contact. The PM who spent years in stakeholder meetings instead of customer conversations just watched their moat evaporate. Everything you can describe to an agent gets cheaper by the month. The understanding you can only earn by sitting with a real customer does not.
In enterprise, that proximity is exactly what got abstracted away. Layers, proxies, research teams, “the business” speaking for the user. The PMs who win the next two years won’t be the ones orchestrating the most agents. They’ll be the ones closest to the people they’re building for. That was always the job. Now it’s the only part that can’t be handed off.
