Optimize the pre-ask process

Instead of waiting for stakeholders to request features, work to identify their pain points before they voice them. Start by clearly understanding the business and customer targets, then analyze user behavior patterns, performance bottlenecks, and workflow inefficiencies to surface needs proactively. Use AI as a pain point sensor.
The best enterprise PMs I know are active ahead of the ask and flip the script entirely. Instead of being order-takers who react to requests, they become strategic advisors who shape the conversation before it starts.
