Documentation reveals planning gaps
Being a product manager in an Enterprise context is different. Some PMs see documentation as a necessary evil, some avoid it entirely. But the real value isn't the document - it's what you discover while writing it.
The moment you try to document your strategy, gaps become obvious. Assumptions you didn't know you had surface. Dependencies you forgot about emerge. What seemed clear in your head reveals itself as wishful thinking on paper.
The best Enterprise PMs I know don't document to record their thinking - they document to improve it. Every PRD, every strategy doc, every process flow is a debugging session for your plan.
